Consensus §01

Proof of authority, not proof of work.

A fixed set of known, vetted validators — the authorities — take turns proposing blocks. A block is final the moment a supermajority of them signs it. There is no mining, no staking race, and no waiting out probabilistic confirmations.

Because every authority is identified, the network stays secure with far fewer validators than an open chain needs. That is what keeps finality fast, throughput steady, and running costs predictable.

Settlement §02

Final means final.

For a settlement venue, “probably final” isn’t good enough. Every transaction on Eidos Chain reaches deterministic finality: once written, a block never reorganizes. Payment and delivery can move in a single atomic step, and the network runs continuously — settlement isn’t bound to market hours or batch windows.

InstructSigned transaction

An institution submits a signed instruction — a transfer, or a delivery-versus-payment order tying an asset leg to its cash leg.

ProposeAuthority’s turn

The authority whose turn it is proposes the next block. The other authorities independently verify it and attest.

FinalizeSupermajority signs

Once a supermajority of authorities attests, the block is final. No reorgs, no probabilistic wait — the state is settled.

SettleAtomic exchange

Both legs move together or not at all. Settlement completes in one step, with no counterparty left holding an unmatched side.

Built for a permissioned world.

Open networks assume anonymity. A settlement chain can’t. Eidos Chain treats identity, access, and auditability as protocol-level properties, not add-ons.

Vetted institutions. Every authority is identified at the protocol layer — you always know who signed a block.

Permissioned. Membership is granted and revocable, not anonymous or open by default.
Audit
Attributable. Because each block carries a known signer, the full ledger is auditable end to end.

Confidential flows. Sensitive transactions can keep counterparties and amounts private while remaining verifiable.
